Hannah Kessinger earns first place in Congressional Art Competition

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brad Wenstrup, R-Cincinnati, has announced the winner of the 2018 Congressional Art Competition.
Hannah Kessinger, a senior from Hillsboro High School won first place for her piece “Warm.”
Her piece will be displayed with all winning entries from congressional districts across the country in the U.S. Capitol for one year.
• Anne Knellinger, a senior from Walnut Hills High School won second place for her piece “A Thought.”
• Gilllian FaJack, a junior from The Summit Country Day won third place for her piece “Liquid City.”
• Aaron McCoy, a sophomore from Miami Valley Christian Academy won the Viewer’s Choice Award for his piece “Faded Light.”
The runners-up will have their artwork displayed prominently in one of Wenstrup’s offices.
This year’s competition had 46 talented entries from across the Second District, and a panel of local artists selected the top three winning entries. The Viewer’s Choice Award was determined by online voting.
“Thank you to each student who entered this year’s competition,” Wenstrup said. “I am proud to have so many talented artists in Ohio’s Second District.
“I congratulate Hannah for her winning piece and look forward to showing it off to those visiting the Capitol this year.”
