Greenfield woman sentenced to community control in meth trafficking case
A Greenfield woman was sentenced to community control recently after pleading guilty to aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine.
Chelsey West, 29, was indicted by a Highland County grand jury on one count of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, a fourth-degree felony, and one count of aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony. The indictment was originally made secret.
According to court records, West pleaded guilty to the trafficking charge in January, with the possession charge dismissed.
A bill of particulars alleges that on or about Dec. 15, 2022, a confidential informant working with the Highland County Task Force met with West in Greenfield to purchase meth. West allegedly sold “two plastic bags containing [a] white substance” to the CI, with one bag later testing positive for meth, the bill of particulars says.
On March 8, Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced West to three years of community control and ordered her to successfully complete a recommended treatment program. West was also ordered to pay $20 in restitution to the Highland County Task Force.
