Firefighters called to Concord Road blaze

Area firefighters were called to 5598 Concord Road south of Hillsboro Monday afternoon on a report of a structure fire.

The fire was reported at approximately 1:30 p.m.

A neighbor, Frank Blankenship, saw the smoke and found a lady mowing the yard.

An 84-year-old woman was inside the home. Blankenship helped get her out and called the fire department.

Several area departments responded, including Paint Creek, Hillsboro, Lynchburg and Mowrystown.
