COLUMBUS — A finding for recovery of $3,720.46 was issued Tuesday against the former vice president of the University of Cincinnati’s Office of Research over an unauthorized donation and personal alcohol purchases.

The finding against Patrick Limbach was included in an audit of the university’s finances from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.

The full report is available online at ohioauditor.gov/auditsearch/search.aspx.

Auditors determined that Limbach made a $3,000 donation to Village Life, a nonprofit organization, using his assigned university purchasing card without prior documented approval and other information.

Auditors also noted that Limbach was reimbursed for personal alcohol purchases totaling $720.46 that were not related to university business or meals.
