FBI announces investigative surge in 2007 missing child investigation in Ohio

Special Agent in Charge Stephen D. Anthony of the Cleveland Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), for the Northern District of Ohio and Chief Calvin Williams, Cleveland Division of Police, announced a case review and interview surge this week regarding the Ashley Summers missing child investigation.
Ashley Summers was last seen in July 2007; however, investigative interviews have resulted in differing last known possible dates and locations of Ashley. Law enforcement now believes there may be two additional areas of interest besides the area of West 96th and Madison Avenue, Cleveland, where Ashley may have last been seen. The two additional areas of interest include the 1100 block of Holmden Avenue and the 3400 block of West 44th.

This week, over 30 investigators from various law enforcement departments, including the Cleveland Division of the FBI, the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force and Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team, the Cleveland Division of Police and Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI), are making contact with individuals that knew Ashley or may have had contact with her prior to July 2007.
Law enforcement is again asking the public if they had any interaction with Ashley or possible knowledge of what may have happened to Ashley to please contact law enforcement as soon as possible at 216-522-1400.
Reward money is available for information leading to the successful location of Ashley Summers and/or information leading to the successful identification of the individual(s) responsible for her disappearance. Tips can remain anonymous.
