Elks Community Service Grant donates to HCSO

Brandy Pearce presented a check for $750 to Highland County Sheriff Ron Ward Tuesday, Aug. 14 at the Highland County Justice Center.
Pearce made the presentation on behalf of the Hillsboro Elks Community Service Grant and Tom Pavlik, state chairman for Community Service of the Ohio Elks Association 501(c)(3) Charitable Trust Fund.
The contribution is to go toward the purchase of a GPS tracking device for the HCSO.
The contribution is made possible by the Elks National Foundation, a perpetual trust fund established many year ago by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
Contributions to the Foundation are made each year by more than 1 million Elks and their friends from more than 2,000 Elk Lodges across the United States, Guam, Panama, Puerto Rico and the Philippines.
