Dr. Gianina Usera has joined Adena Endocrinology and Diabetes Care, specializing in medical care and treatment related to Type I and Type II diabetes, hormone and thyroid disorders, as well as osteoporosis and calcium disorders.

Dr. Usera can help you with every level of your diabetes care and will be with you every step of the way to answer questions, give suggestions and track your progress. Her primary focus of care is education.
“I believe education is the key to achieving patient wellness,” Dr. Usera said. “For effective communication, I always try to describe my thought process and the care plan in terms the patients can understand.”
Dr. Usera also puts a lot of effort into building close relationships her patients.
“I want my patients to know that I am always there for them,” Dr. Usera said. “Whether they are a new patient or an established one, I put an emphasis into following up and checking on how they are doing.”
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Usera earned her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. She served her residency at Yale New Haven Health’s Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut. Dr. Usera also managed the care of patients with diabetes and hormone disorders at Long Island Jewish Hospital, located in New York.
