Personnel from the Paint Creek Joint Fire/EMS District, Hillsboro Police Department and Highland County Emergency Management Agency responded to a fire at 555 South High Street in Hillsboro Tuesday evening.

According to Paint Creek fire chief David Manning, crews were dispatched to a grease fire at the apartment building.

“Upon our arrival, we had light to moderate smoke coming out of the apartment,” Manning told The Highland County Press. “Crews made entry in, located the fire and knocked it down.”

One of the building’s occupants was being evaluated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
