Brown-62 reopens following repairs

Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility have reopened U.S. Route 62 following emergency repairs due to a pavement collapse.

On Friday, Jan. 12, maintenance forces enacted a single-lane restriction on U.S. 62, between County Road 36 (Gooselick Road) and its junction with state Route 353 at Red Oak, where the pavement had buckled and collapsed along the westbound lane and shoulder of the route.

In between bouts of snow and ice, crews have been working to restore the route, and with all repairs completed, the route is now open to two lanes of traffic.
