A Blanchester man was recently sentenced to prison in connection with a Highland County drug possession case.

As previously reported, Clinton Lee Brown, 56, was indicted by a Highland County grand jury in July and charged with possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fourth-degree felony.

Brown pleaded guilty to the charge in September, according to court records.

A bill of particulars alleges that on or about March 20 in Leesburg, Highland County Sheriff’s deputies were arresting Brown on an unrelated warrant. During a search, it is alleged that deputies located “a plastic baggie continuing a white powdery substance” in Brown’s pants. Analysis by BCI determined that the baggies contained 3.42 grams of fentanyl, the bill of particulars alleges.

Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Brown to 12 months in prison, with jail time credit of five days, at a hearing in November. That sentence is to be served consecutively to a previously imposed sentence from Clinton County Common Pleas Court.

According to court records, Brown was sentenced in October to charges in two different Clinton County cases. That includes a 30-month sentence for a third-degree felony charge of aggravated trafficking in drugs, concurrent to a 12-month sentence for a fourth-degree felony charge of aggravated trafficking in drugs and consecutive to a six-month sentence for a fifth-degree felony charge of possession of a fentanyl-related compound.

Brown is currently incarcerated in the London Correctional Institution, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
