Bainbridge Fire Department, other agencies battle structure fire

On May 26 at 2:16 a.m., the Bainbridge Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Walnut Street in the Village of Bainbridge for a residential structure fire with multiple exposures.

Engine 801 arrived and began a defensive fire attack, exposure control. Mutual aid was requested and received from Paint Creek JFD, Huntington & Twin Townships. Engine 801, Engine 802, Tanker 811, Squad 816, Command 819 and eight Bainbridge firefighters answered the call.

The house was abandoned at the time of the fire and suffered a complete loss. Three neighboring houses were damaged during the fire. No injuries were reported.

The fire has been ruled suspicious and is under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Bainbridge Fire Department, Ross County Sheriff or Ohio Division of State Fire Marshal.
