By
AgriSafe Network, Press Release

AgriSafe Network is extremely pleased to announce that their FarmResponse® program received the ISASH Practitioner Achievement award at the 2024 International Society of Agricultural Health and Safety (ISASH) conference in Portland, Ore.

As stated by ISASH, this award is designated for an outreach or education program showing significant impacts and outcomes in injury prevention or safety and health practice. Several members of the AgriSafe team were present to accept this award, including Natalie Roy, Tara Haskins, Laura Siegel, Knesha Rose-Davison and Abby Kahrs.

“AgriSafe is very proud to know that ISASH recognizes the impact of FarmResponse,” said Tara Haskins, DNP, RN, AgriSafe’s Total Farmer Health Director. “We are committed to continuing our efforts in the agriculture community by providing the best knowledge to practitioners. Awards like this validate our efforts and encourage us to continue positively impacting rural health outcomes.”

FarmResponse was created by AgriSafe Network in 2022 in response to the high rates of stress and injury that exist in the agriculture sector. This program is a continuing education module that offers health care providers the full range of education necessary to provide the best behavioral health care for individuals in agriculture and their families.

AgriSafe is proud to report that over 1,200 health care providers in 48 states have been trained in FarmResponse. This training has also been recognized by the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) and can be found listed on the SPRC’s Best Practices Registry. For information on the efficacy and outcomes of the training program, check out the recent publication in the Online Journal of Rural Nursing and Health Care, which evaluates FarmResponse based on feedback from participants.

If you want to bring this award-winning evidence-based training to your state’s health care providers or have other inquiries about FarmResponse, please contact Tara Haskins at thaskins@agrisafe.org.
