Agencies work together to capture Paul R. Riggs, Jr. in traffic fatalities

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and Pike County Sheriff’s Office deputies apprehended Paul R. Riggs Jr., 30, of Waverly, at approximately 11 a.m. today on Germany Road, approximately one mile south of State Route 32, in Pike County.

He was taken into custody without incident.

Riggs had been on the run since June 24, when the vehicle he was driving went left of center, killing Tina L. Ogier, 35, her unborn child and her passenger, Mary Jane E. Cooper, 19, all of Beaver, Ohio and injured a 14-year-old-male passenger.

Riggs has been transported to Pike County Sheriff’s Office and will later be incarcerated at the Scioto County Jail. He is facing the following charges: three-counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one-count of aggravated vehicular assault.
