5 arrested after reported shooting in Circleville

On Feb. 1, the Circleville Police Department Communications Center received numerous 911 calls reporting a shooting incident in the 900 block of South Pickaway Street. 

Promptly, Circleville Police officers arrived at the scene, where multiple individuals were present, initiating a thorough investigation. Witnesses attested to hearing several gunshots.

Following a brief inquiry, officers confirmed the occurrence of the shooting on South Pickaway Street. Through interactions with witnesses, the shooting suspects were identified, and their locations determined. Subsequently, multiple suspects were apprehended. Additional suspects were located at a location on Kingston Court, resulting in the apprehension of two more suspects.

Search warrants were secured, leading to the discovery of alleged substantial incriminating evidence against all suspects involved. A total of six weapons, assorted calibers of ammunition and a significant quantity of marijuana and THC cartridges were allegedly seized during the operation.

The following individuals were transported to the Pickaway County Jail:

• Enrique Hernandez, 19, of Columbus was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence (F3), discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises (M1), inducing panic (M1) and two counts of aggravated menacing (M1).

• Levi Karshner, 21, of Ashville was arrested and charged with felonious assault (F2), discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises (F3) and improper handling of a firearm (F4).

• Kinza Malik, 21, of Circleville was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence (F3) and obstruction of official business (M1).

• Logan Ritchhart, 29, of Chillicothe was arrested and charged with weapons under disability (F3).

• Christian Spearman, 26, of Circleville was arrested and charged with carrying concealed weapons, (M1) complicity to discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises (M1), obstructing official business (M2) and failure to disclose personal information (M4). 

This investigation remains open, and further criminal charges are expected.
