Guilda M. Kissell
Guilda M. Kissell, 95, of Springfield, formerly of Centerville, passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2023.
She was born on Aug. 4, 1928, in Middletown, the daughter of the late Thomas Allen Roberson and Virginia Olivia (McNabb) Roberson.
Guilda was a graduate of Belfast High School, and she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Wilmington College and her master’s degree from Wright State University. She worked as a first grade schoolteacher for over 30 years, beginning her teaching career at West Elementary School in Franklin and retiring from the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek School District.
She was a member of the South Minister Church in Centerville, and she was a member of the T.O.T. Club – Tired Old Teachers. She enjoyed collecting antiques, antique dishes, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, friends, and all her animals. She will be greatly missed.
Guilda is survived by two children, Virginia “Ginger” Kapp and Elwood “Ed” (Faviana) Kissell; three grandchildren, Joshua Kapp, Olivia Kissell and Mateo Kissell; a sister, Olga Conley; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Harriet Kimberlin and Violet Schmidt, and two brothers, Thomas Allen Roberson II and Jack L. Roberson.
Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12 in the Coss Cemetery in Belfast.
