For the ninth consecutive year, the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center (SOESC) has been recognized as a “High-Performing ESC” by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. This designation reflects SOESC’s continued commitment to providing exceptional service and support to member districts across Adams, Clinton, Fayette and Highland counties.
The “High-Performing ESC” designation is awarded based on factors including cost savings for school districts. To achieve the “High-Performing ESC” designation, an ESC must generate total cost savings of at least five percent across five ESC-selected service areas for its client school districts as compared to another vendor.
The percentage of savings for Ohio’s ESCs far exceeds the five-percent benchmark, averaging 39.32-percent savings in fiscal year 2024, based on data provided by the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.
Furthermore, the Southern Ohio ESC’s designation as a “High-Performing ESC” exempts client districts from competitive bidding requirements for ESC personnel-based purchased services.
As Curt Bradshaw, SOESC Superintendent explains, “Our ninth consecutive designation as a High-Performing ESC reflects the passion and dedication of our staff and partners. As we look ahead, we remain focused on expanding our impact through innovative solutions that drive student and community success. We are committed to providing exceptional educational services that deliver outstanding value, ensuring the highest standards of quality while remaining mindful of our clients’ needs and priorities.”
The SOESC serves 12 member districts, providing essential services that enhance educational programs and facilitate staff development, student services and cost-effective resources. The ESC’s mission — "Together, we empower excellence by transforming education through dynamic partnerships for our students and community" — continues to guide their work and inspire excellence across Southern Ohio.
