Lynchburg-Clay FFA, Jeff Dye Greenhouse teaming up for Swags for Soldiers project
In 2022, the Lynchburg-Clay FFA began a community service project with the goal of spreading Christmas cheer to those that are away for the holidays. We partnered with Jeff Dye Greenhouse & Nursery to make and sell Christmas Swags. All proceeds from the project are used to purchase goodies to send to our men and women overseas.
In 2022, we raised $1,600 and sent eight boxes of goodies to one unit. Much to our surprise, we received a letter, flag and two patches from the members on that worked in that crew. Two representatives from the unit attended our FFA banquet and thanked us for our gifts.
In 2023, we raised $1,400 and sent 11 boxes of goodies to two separate units serving overseas. Mr. Dye let our students come to shop for a day and help make the swags, which taught us a skill of being a business owner.
This year, we raised $900 and plan to send food items to two local servicemen and their units.
Thank you to all those that have supported our project over the last few years, and thank you to Jeff Dye for his cooperation over the last few years. We look forward to continuing to work with you.
