Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA members exhibit poultry, rabbits at Highland County Fair

This year's Highland County Fair gave some of our FFA members the opportunity to exhibit their animals and compete in various competitions.

Starting off with our rabbit exhibitors, Kallie Crago won Grand Champion in the sixth class for doe and litter. Addy Knauff won fourth place for showmanship. Kate Holsted received third place in showmanship, and third as well as eighth place for her market rabbits. Jay Reno won second place for his male New Zealand and sixth place for his female New Zealand. Collyn Schraw enjoyed his time at the fair exhibiting his rabbits.

Doug Thackston won third for single fryer. Halle Jones exhibited two single fryers, won Reserve Grand Champion Market, top six overall breeding rabbit, won Champion 6-8 month old doe, open show class winner and division winner and received third in showmanship class.

Reagan Leeth placed eighth for one of her rabbits and the other in ninth for her class. Kobie Miles received second in her market class, second for showmanship class and the outstanding market exhibitor in her age group.

As for the poultry exhibitors, Elizabeth Ogden received second place in the Chicken Bowl, fourth for her poultry weight class and first place in her showmanship class. Mathias Hostetler won fifth place for his class. Addy Knauff won third place in the poultry and egg judging contest.
