Doris Marie Fields

Doris Marie Fields, 71, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023 at her home.

She was born Oct. 5, 1951 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Felix Fields Sr. and Grace I. (Robinson) Fields.

Doris was a 1969 graduate of Hillsboro High School, and she also took welding classes at SSCC. Doris worked at RobertShaw Company, Hobart machine shop and for 17 years at Candle-Lite in Leesburg. Doris was very dedicated to her work, but she also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, solving puzzles, reading newspapers and spending time with her daughter, family and friends.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Annette Fields; five siblings, Dana Fields, Vickie (Anthony) Paris, Cynthia (Mark) Davis, Lois Mae Caldwell and Sharon Fields; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Felix Fields Jr., Carol Louise Fields and Marva Ann Fields; and a special friend, Priscilla Browder Freeman.

Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 8, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will take place Friday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Patty Burns will be presiding. Burial will follow services in the Resthaven Memory Gardens.
