Caroline M. Surber
Caroline M. Surber, 70, passed away Aug. 26, 2023.
She was born June 22, 1953 in Hillsboro to the late Henry and Mabel Bellamy.
Carolyn was proud of the farm she and her husband Keith operated south of New Market. In addition to the homeplace, they purchased and stewarded her childhood farm north of Winchester.
She was a loving mother to her three boys and was just as motherly to all her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She loved them all dearly.
She worked tirelessly on the farm in addition to her role as the homemaker. Later, she was elected to three terms as the Township Fiscal Officer. She co-authored a history book in 2003 titled “New Market Memories.” She was a 1971 graduate of Whiteoak High School. She always had a camera handy to capture the moment. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of more than 46 years, Keith Surber; children, Kevin and Sara Surber (grandchildren Shep and Beau), Darin and Andrea Surber (Cal, Marlow and Holland) and Chris and Lauren Surber (Teddy, Charlotte and Clara); and siblings, Phyllis Bellamy, Doris Satterfield, Ralph Bellamy, Kenneth Bellamy, Linda (Ralph) Gleadle, Roy (Linda) Bellamy, Shirley Sexton and Barb (Rick) Seaman.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harlan Bellamy; and siblings-in-law, Paul Sexton, Lucy Bellamy, Llyod Satterfield and Pat Bellamy.
The family is sincerely grateful for the loving care provided by the staff of Bell Gardens and Community Care Hospice.
The Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro is serving the family. Services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in the Hamer Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Buddy Walk of Cincinnati, Team: Beau’s Bunch at https://shorturl.at/mrxIX.
