12 Ohio University football student-athletes named to Phil Steele 2023 Preseason MAC team

The Ohio University football program landed 12 student athletes on Phil Steele’s 2023 Preseason MAC team, as announced by the publication June 12.

WR Graduate student Sam Wiglusz (Brecksville, Ohio)
DE Graduate student Vonnie Watkins (Lusby, Md.)
LB Graduate student Keye Thompson (Barberton, Ohio).
 
Second Team
WR Senior Jacoby Jones (Tunica, Miss.)
LB Graduate student Bryce Houston (Lewis Center, Ohio)
KR Redshirt junior Keegan Wilburn (Nelsonville, Ohio).

OT Redshirt senior Jay Amburgey (Reynoldsburg, Ohio).

The Bobcats are set to open the 2023 season Saturday, Aug. 26 when they take on the San Diego State Aztecs. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on FS1 at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, Calif. Homecoming is set for Saturday, Oct. 7 against the Kent State Golden Flashes.
