HILLSBORO - Joe Michael scored 26 points including 10 of 18 from the foul line Friday night to pace the Whiteoak Wildcats to 68-61 season-opening victory over the North Adams Green Devils.

The game was the nightcap of three games between the two Southern Hills
League schools, played at Southern State Community College's Patriot Center.

Mike Carraher scored seven first-quarter points for Tom Wessner's Wildcats,
as took an early 20-10 edge after eight minutes. Sam Louden connected for
five points for Dave Young's Green Devils in the opening period and Kris
King drained a 3-ball to keep it close. Louden's trey answered back-to-back
3-pointers by Ben Barnett and Carraher.

halftime score at 40-26.
