Hillsboro 8th graders win 6th straight girls basketball conference title

After 108 games played together as a team since third grade, the Hillsboro Lady Indians eighth grade team finished their season Feb. 2 by winning a sixth straight conference championship.

This group has gone undefeated against Frontier Athletic Conference opponents and are 97-11 overall in their career together.

The team includes Dinah Ames, Nevaeh Blair, Peyton Gobin, Ella Jordan, Riley Pence, Taylor-Ann Scruggs and Piper Wilkin. They are coached by JC Captain, Larry Scruggs and Mallory Parsons.

Some of their accomplishments include:

• Third grade: TRICounty League Champs, Greenfield Tournament Champs and WCH Tournament Champs.

• Fourth grade: TRICounty League Champs, Greenfield Tournament Champs, WCH Tournament Champs, MT Tournament Champs.

• Fifth Grade: Mini-SHAC League Champs, Mini-SHAC Tournament Champs.

• Sixth Grade: TRICounty League Champs.

• Seventh Grade: FAC League Champs, FAC Tournament Champs.

• Eighth Grade: FAC League Champs, FAC Tournament Champs.
