Francis L. Easter, 91, of Greenfield, Ohio, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born May 20, 1918 in Leesburg, the son of the late Jacob and Blanche (Gleadell) Easter.
He was retired from Monsanto-Mound Division in Dayton and a graduate of the Leesburg High School, where he was a member of the 1936 state runner-up basketball team. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII and was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Lodge No. 0729 in Kettering, Ohio.
He is survived by one son, Richard (Marilyn) Easter of Greenfield; one grandson, Dale (Teresa) Easter, of Bellbrook, Ohio; two great-grandsons, Nathan and Josh Easter of Bellbrook; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special caregiver Charlotte Easter of Greenfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Truman Easter, Orville Easter, and Delmus Easter.
Cremation will take place and will be followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Leesburg with Rev. Mark Current officiating. There will be no visitation observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation, 3530 E. Campo Abierto, Suite 105, Tucson, AZ 85718-3327.
