U.S. Senate Republicans finally passed their roughly $70 billion immigration enforcement funding bill after an 18-hour vote-a-rama that ended early Friday. The 52-47 final vote saw every Republican except holdout Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, supporting party-line the bill.

A man accused of assaulting a woman at a Hillsboro South High Street business – before running over another individual who tried to stop him – has been arrested by the Hillsboro Police Department, according to reports.

JobsOhio already faces regular auditing and produces annual reports. But critics complain the audits don’t reveal enough about JobsOhio’s inner workings, and the reports only describe outcomes in the aggregate. Ohio House Bill 779 would replace that oversight with the standard two-year audits any other state agency or public entity receives from the Ohio Auditor.

Researchers estimate the outer limit of U.S. debt capacity at about 210% of gross domestic product. At that point, even a 100% tax on labor income would not generate enough revenue to cover interest costs, making the debt impossible to stabilize through labor-tax increases alone.

A grand jury indictment describing 11 counts of wire fraud, bank fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering against the Southern Poverty Law Center obtained by the U.S. Department of Justice on June 2, 2026. “The SPLC’s paid informants engaged in the active promotion of racist groups at the same time that the SPLC was denouncing the same groups on its website,” the superseding indictment reads.

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose this week certified the official results of the 2026 Ohio Primary Election, marking the completion of the statewide canvass conducted by Ohio’s 88 county boards of elections.
