Southern State to host New Student Resource Expo to welcome incoming students
Every conversation helps shape the college experience. The New Student Resource Expo is a great place for students to begin their pathway to success at Southern State Community College.
Southern State will host a New Student Resource Expo on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Central Campus in Hillsboro, providing all students the opportunity to connect with various campus departments before the start of the semester, which begins on Monday, Aug. 24.
This free event is designed to help students become familiar with the resources and services available to support their academic and personal success.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet representatives from academic advising, financial aid, admissions, tutoring, career services, counseling, disability services, library services, and other campus offices.
"Our goal is to ensure every student feels welcomed, informed, and prepared for success from day one," said SSCC Director of Enrollment Management Jim Farmer. "The Resource Expo is an excellent opportunity for students to ask questions, build connections, and learn about the many services available to help them reach their educational goals."
In addition to the information sessions, the event will feature campus tours, prize giveaways, refreshments, and more.
The New Student Resource Expo is open to all students, as well as their families and supporters. Registration is strongly encouraged, but not required.
