Highland County’s American Association of University Women (AAUW) chapter sponsored an area student to attend Be Wise Camp.

The Hillsboro High School class of 1984 held its 40th reunion at the Hillsboro Orpheum on Saturday, Sept. 21.  

The Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7) and the Shawnee State University Occupational Therapy (OT) Program are once again joining together to provide falls prevention education to the community through a Facebook livestream series, “Fall-Free Fridays.”

The Community Action Committee of Pike County (CAC) is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated fourth annual Community Trunk-or-Treat event, scheduled to take place Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 5-7 p.m. This exciting event will be held at the Multi-Purpose Building at the Pike County Fairgrounds, located at 311 Mill Street, Piketon.

Dr. C. Adam Buckler of Kentucky and Wayne and June Dalton of Bainbridge will be speaker and song evangelists at the Leesburg Wesleyan Church’s Revival, Oct. 18-19 at 7 p.m. each evening and continuing through Sunday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) recently held a grand opening for the new Dorothy & Corbett Walker Memorial Biking/Hiking Trail with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The 2024 Highland County Fair took place from Sept. 1-7. During the week, the Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Chapter had multiple members exhibit their goat and sheep projects. 

Some of our Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Chapter members were very successful in this year's Highland County Fair with their horse exhibits. 

This year at the Highland County Fair we had an impeccable week. From Saturday-Saturday, we sold a variety of foods and drinks.

The Main Street Greenfield 225th Celebration was held Saturday, Sept. 14 at Mitchell Park.

Local Blanchester Girl Scout Leader Ida Miller of Troop #45988 entered a contest to try to win a National Park adventure for her troop. Miller has advanced to the wildcard round and would love community folks to cast a free daily vote.

During Hunger Action Month, Adams, Brown and Highland County community organizations connected with The Ohio State University (OSU) and the local OSU Extension teams for food kindness. These counties have a combined food insecurity rate of 52.8 percent (Feeding America, 2022).

The Alzheimer's Association Central Ohio Chapter is hosting a free in-person programs in October in Washington Court House.
