The 2024 All-Southeast District baseball teams have been selected by coaches of the district, with 19 baseball players, along with one coach, honored this spring.

The 2024 Southeast District Softball Coaches have released their All-District teams for the spring 2024 season, with 17 Highland County athletes honored.

The McClain Tigers girls track and field program will be well represented at the Division II OHSAA State Track and Field Championships this weekend, with six student-athletes competing for the school in three events.

The 116th Annual Boys and 49th Annual Girls Ohio High School Athletic Association Track and Field State Tournament begins Thursday afternoon at Welcome Stadium in Dayton.

A total of 13 Highland County athletes have punched their tickets for the 2024 OHSAA Track & Field State Tournament after their qualifying finishes at the Div. II and Div. III regional meets.

The McClain Tigers have a new head coach at the varsity level for boys basketball, and it is a familiar face … that being Jarrod Haines, who coached the girls program for a decade and is currently the assistant principal at McClain High School. 

Hillsboro and McClain boys and girls track and field athletes are moving on to regionals, after a strong showing at the Div. II Southeast District Meet in Washington Court House May 14 and 18. The event included a district runner-up trophy for the Lady Tigers and a combined seven event championships for Hillsboro and McClain, along with other top four finishes.

McClain Tigers baseball saw their season come to an end on Wednesday, May 15, as they lost in a Division II SE District Sectional Final game at New Lexington against the NLHS Panthers by an 11-0 score in five innings. 

The McClain Tigers varsity baseball team got their first tournament win since 2019 with a 12-6 victory over Vinton County Monday night on Tom Hixson Field in Greenfield.

The baseball season of the McClain Tigers continued last week as they lost on the road to Huntington on Wednesday (May 8) and on Friday (May 10) at home to Portsmouth West. 

Following a two-day event on Tuesday (May 7) and Thursday (May 9), the Hillsboro Indians and McClain Lady Tigers won the boys and girls 2024 Frontier Athletic Conference championships at Washington High School.
