Tea Party helps promote HUBA cruise-in

On Friday, June 7, the Highland County Tea Party members gathered in front of the Highland County Courthouse to promote the Hillsboro Uptown Business Association's Cruise-In.
They had dinner at the various uptown restaurants and roamed the area businesses for the great discounted prices and new offerings.
As part of the Tea Party Community Support Program, Debby Williams with the help of Linda Sprinkle, created three "Patriot Baskets" with donations from area businesses as well as purchases from the Tea Party that had a combined value of over $700.
Raffle tickets were sold at the Cruise-In and concluded with final sales at the Tea Party meeting Monday, June 17. The drawing honors were done by 9-year-old Jessica Lynn Economidis, who recently was a speaker at the Warren County Tea Party meeting, voicing concerns about monetary policies of the Obama administration from a young person's point of view. She is the granddaughter of Highland County Tea Party President Barb Cole.
At the new Veterans Services office in the Hi-TEC Center, Bob Braman, treasurer of the Tea Party, presented a check of all proceeds to Stephanie Roland, president of the Support Our Troops of Highland County.
Exhibiting the communities' great support of our troops, Ken Storer, winner of the first-place Patriot Basket, was a real patriot as he immediately gifted the basket to Stephanie Roland and asked her to present it to a veteran or currently serving veteran's family.
The second-place winner was Bobby Woodruff joining in at the new office. The third-place winner was Bonnie Rhodes, who was awarded her basket at her home by Debby Williams.
