Fairfield Family and Consumer Sciences teacher and FCCLA adviser Dianna Coffey presented the "Lions Gate to the school in an open house dedication May. 7.

Combined efforts of fundraising, design, and construction came from Fairfield FCCLA, FFA, art classes and Laurel Oaks masonry class.

The lion statues atop masonry piers welcome fans and visitors to the baseball/softball fields.

Coffey thanked all involved.

"The engraved bricks will serve to remind us of the past staff and students who are no longer living, but whose memories will forever remain in our hearts. Likewise, we commemorate the names of many who helped and supported the creation of the 'Lions Gate.'

"We dedicate this gateway to honor those who have gone before and to showcase Lions' Pride to those who will come after us," she said.
