The Greenfield Lions Club is sponsoring what should truly be a remarkable show to be performed on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009 in the McClain High School auditorium. Susan Long, a Lions Club member, explains that the show, which is titled "City Sidewalk Christmas," is enlisting the talents of community members, who love to sing, dance and perform, as well as those with technical expertise and who can help with the actual production. The show, which will be performed twice on Dec. 13, including a 2 p.m. matinee and a 6 p.m. evening show, will feature youngsters as well as oldsters. The Lions Club has stepped up to support the community performing arts effort in Greenfield. The money raised from the community benefit show will be fed back into the community. Brad Barber and his father, Archie Barber, who are top-notch when it comes to stage lighting, sound and set design, have signed on as have other local talents, including Dusty Barrett, whose singing abilities are legendary in these parts. Pam Fabin, another long-time singer and performer, is the director of the adult choir, which will perform throughout the show. Cindi Pearce and her group of dancers will execute their version of the Rockettes' "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers." McClain High School student Erin Mizer and her fellow tap dancers will also be performing. Long, a former English and drama teacher and a life-long musician, who has been associated with the performing arts for decades, is the master-mind behind the show. She encourages anyone who is interested in being involved in this production to contact her (981-4931) or fellow Lions Club members, Marilyn Mitchell (981-2203) or Harold Schmidt (981-2905). Mark your calendars for Sunday, Dec. 13. The show should prove to be quite memorable and a welcome addition to your holiday season.[[In-content Ad]]
