Rhonda McAdams told commissioners the agency "is always looking for additional foster parents."
McAdams said May is a time to recognize and honor local foster families.
Foster children average a year to 18 months in foster care. There is a special need for teenagers and children with siblings.
Foster Care Month is observed each May and provides an opportunity to shine a light on the experiences of the more than 380,000 children nationwide and youths under 18 in the foster care system.
The campaign raises awareness about the urgent needs of these young people and encourages citizens from every walk of life to get involved – as foster or adoptive parents, volunteers, mentors, employers or in other ways.
