MOWRYSTOWN — The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs played their entire roster Thursday night, gaining a road Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory over the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats, 90-12.

Lynchburg-Clay moves to 10-0 on the season, as they used a different starting lineup than normal and had many different rotations in their line to gain the SHAC win over the rebuilding Lady Wildcats club.

In the first frame, LCHS scored all of the points in the eight minutes played for a 31-0 advantage, beginning the game with 3-pointers by Serena Smith, who was in the starting lineup as a point guard, and Zoe Fittro. From there, Fittro added two points on a fast break, followed with a bucket by Logan Binkley for a 10-0 lead. Binkley finished the game with eight points.

Next, Fittro scored a three-point play, and Sierra Benney sank two free throws for the Lady Mustangs. Peyton Scott entered the game with under 5:00 to go in the first frame and scored her first points with 4:06 on the first-quarter clock to move LC’s lead to 17-0. In limited time on Thursday, Scott led LC with 22 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double. She also added three steals in the win.

Chelsea Hart added to the LC advantage with a layup, and Scott came back with two more points for LC. Hart and Scott continued to add points to the LC side of the scoreboard, followed by a bucket from Benney and the final two points of the first were off a put-back basket by Hart for the 31 points in the first frame. Hart ended the game with 10 points.

LC built their lead to 35 points in the second with Binkley scoring four straight points off points in the paint, including two of those points on a fast break.

Whiteoak (0-12) scored their first points of the game with 4:38 on the clock as Kayla Jones put the ball through the hoop, and next came a free-throw conversion by Cylee Bratton for the Lady ’Cats. Bratton totaled three points for the game.

For the rest of the second frame, all of the scoring went to the Lady Mustangs as Scott scored the next two buckets, followed by a put-back basket by Kaylee Lunsford. Benney followed with a 3-pointer, and the quarter ended with a fast-break basket by Scott and another 3-pointer by Benney for a 49-3 halftime lead. Lunsford finished the game with 19 points, along with four rebounds and four steals. Benney finished the game with five points.

LC added 21 points in the third with Fittro — who totaled 14 points and five rebounds in the win — sinking a 3-pointer, along with Hart having two field goals. Smith added two points in the third, and Scott scored four points in the same quarter. Also in the third, Allie Etienne scored two points for LCHS, as did Binkley. Lunsford tacked on four points for LC in the third as they increased their lead after three frames to 70-12.

Whiteoak in the third had four points from Ward off two two-point baskets, and Karlie Taylor sank a 3-pointer for the home team. Bratton also scored two points in the third. Ward finished leading WHS with four points.

The Lady Mustangs outscored WHS, 20-0 in the fourth quarter as Fittro sank a 3-pointer, Scott scored four points and Lunsford went off for 13 points in the fourth as the junior made six two-point baskets and a free throw.
