The McClain Tigers lost on the road in non-conference play Tuesday night as they lost to the host Zane Trace Pioneers of the Scioto Valley Conference by a 59-20 score.

McClain’s loss at ZTHS began with a very tough first half with the Tigers trailing by an 18-3 score after the first frame, and following a second quarter where they were held to a 13-4 deficit, the Tigers trailed at halftime by a 31-7 score.

The first-half scoring for the Tigers was by Devin Carter and Garrison Banks with Carter having four points in the first two quarters and Banks tallying three. Overall scoring for the game was not submitted.

After three frames, McClain trailed 42-18 as the third quarter was their best eight-minute frame, as they matched the Pioneers for a 11-11 score in the third. The fourth was another tough quarter on the Tigers as they were outscored by a 17-2 score.

The loss by McClain moves them to 1-9 overall.
