Miami University sophomore and former Lynchburg-Clay standout Peyton Scott was named Miami University’s Female Athlete of the Week for a second consecutive week, as announced Monday, Jan. 11.
According to the university’s press release, “Scott averaged 20.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game over the past week. She was also 10-of-12 from the free throw line and added six steals as well. The sophomore had her first career double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds versus Ohio and followed that up with 22 points and a career-high seven assists at Akron.”
This is the third Athlete of the Week honor for Scott this season, as she has been selected Dec. 14, Jan. 4 and now Jan. 11.
Thus far for the Miami Redhawks this season (nine games), Scott is averaging 18.2 points per game, plus 5.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
