The McClain boys and girls track teams had an outstanding night at the Washington Court House Invitational, where both teams won an invitational on the same night for the first time in program history.

During the invitational on Friday, April 16, the boys team finished first out of eight teams, scoring 131.5 points and winning by 28.5 points over the second-place team. The girls team finished first out of eight teams as well, scoring 135 points and winning by 18 points over the second-place team.

Senior Kerigan Pollard was the meet medalist for a second straight invitational.

Event winners and winning relay teams from the invitational included:

• Kerigan Pollard won the 100-meter dash, 300-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash.

• Genève Baril won the 1600-meter race and the 3200-meter race.

• Lily Barnes won the shot put and discus.

• Camden Closson broke his own record in discus, throwing 133-09.

• The boys 4x800 team of Andrew Newland, Luke Bliss, Paul Bliss and Logan Scales.

• The boys 4x100 team of Brandon King, Braden Wright, Seth Wise and Matt Bliss.

• The girls 4x100 team of Emma Stegbauer, Luca Matesic, Macey McCune and Iva Easter.

• Seth Wise won the 110-meter hurdles.

“We placed in most of our events, scoring a lot of secondary points (second-eighth place,” head coach Steve Roble said. “This was a complete effort tonight from the boys and girls teams.”
