The Hillsboro Lady Indians lost to the host Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers on Saturday by a 48-38 score in what was a Frontier Athletic Conference loss.

Chillicothe led by a 16-11 score at the end of the first quarter, and after leading the second frame at 13-11, the Lady Cavaliers led Hillsboro, 29-22 at halftime.

The third frame saw CHS add 13 points, while HHS added five points. In the fourth, HHS scored 11 points, and the Lady Cavs added six points for their 10-point win.



Karleigh Hopkins led HHS with 12 points, as she made four two-point baskets, one 3-pointer and she was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. Hopkins also added six rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Next was Josie Hopkins with eight points (three two-point baskets, 2-of-4 from free-throw line), and finishing with seven points was Jordan Moberly (two two-point baskets, one 3-pointer).

Josie Hopkins also added four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. Moberly collected one rebound and one steal.

Rounding out the HHS scoring were Brynn Bledsoe with five points (three rebounds, one steal), Gracie Dean (two rebounds, three assists, one steal) with four points, and Kayden Watson (one rebound, one steal) with two points.

Sinai Roberts totaled one rebound for HHS, while Christine Page had one rebound as well.

For the game, HHS totaled 11 two-point field goals, two 3-pointers and as a team they were 10-of-18 from the free-throw line.

Shawnice Smith led Chillicothe with 19 points, as she made eight two-point baskets, and was 3-of-3 from the free-throw line.

The Lady Cavs finished with 17 two-point baskets, two 3-pointers and they were 8-of-9 in their free-throw attempts.
