The Hillsboro Indians boys bowling team wrapped up their season as district runners-up in the Division I East/Southeast combined district meet held this past Saturday at Park Lanes.

The Indians gained their second-place finish by trailing only Zanesville, who won the district championship and a trip to the state tournament with a final score of 4,133. The Indians were second with a final score of 4,069, trailing by 64 pins.



In the eight-team event, only the district champion earned a spot at the state tournament. The remaining standings were: Logan (3,998), New Philadelphia (3,970), Maysville (3,800), Dover (3,502), Chillicothe (3,467) and Jackson (2,883).

The regulation scores for the Indians were 958, 986 and 1,030 for a 2,974 score in regulation games. Hillsboro’s six Baker game scores were 201, 184, 147, 199, 180 and 184 for a Baker total of 1,095.

The leading individual bowler for the Indians was junior Ty Alexander in third place with a score of 641. He bowled games of 184, 204 and 253.

In sixth place was HHS junior Andrew Louderback with a final score of 618 having game scores of 194, 221 and 203.

Also in the Top 10 for the Indians was sophomore Hayden Miller with game scores of 234, 195 and 170 for a final score of 599.

The 13th-place spot went to junior Christian McConehea at 588 as he totaled regulation scores of 185, 182 and 221.

In 25th place was Hillsboro junior Brendon Ormes with a 528 score. Ormes’ individual scores were 161, 184 and 183.
