Following over a week off due to the Highland County Fair, the Fairfield Lady Lions soccer team returned to the field, hit the road and came home with a convincing 4-2 non-conference victory over the Minford Lady Falcons Monday night.

The Lady Lions and Minford were tied at 2-2 following the first 40 minutes of play, but the second half belonged to the visitors. Fairfield scored two more goals, while their defense “pitched a shutout” in the final 40 minutes of play for the win.

Fairfield’s victory moves them to 4-1 overall on the season.

In the game for the Lady Lions, they shared the wealth with four players scoring goals, with those being scored by Ella Newkirk, Kennedy Zink, Cadence Saunders and Olivia Bellamy. Assists were credited to Emma Vance and Zink. At goal for FHS, it was Alayna McIntosh with six saves.

Goals for Minford were scored by Mychal Cron and Haley Knore. At goal for Minford, Nevaeh Porter totaled seven saves.
