The Southern Hills Athletic Conference has released their 2022 All-SHAC spring sports teams, with 37 Highland County athletes and three coaches recognized this year.

For girls track and field, Highland County had 11 athletes recognized for their finishes at the SHAC meet, including 10 from Fairfield (SHAC runners-up).

All-SHAC honors went to these Highland County athletes:

• Olivia Bellamy (4x200 relay, 4x100 relay), Fairfield;

• Caitlin Campbell (4x100 relay), Fairfield;

• Faith Donley (4x400 relay), Fairfield;

• Hallie Haines (high jump, 4x200 relay, 4x400 relay), Fairfield;

• Jadi Howland (4x200 relay), Fairfield;

• Lydia Kittner (100m dash, 400m dash), Whiteoak;

• Emily Price (4x100 relay), Fairfield;

• Paris Priest (shot put), Fairfield;

• Avery Teeters (4x200 relay, 4x400 relay), Fairfield;

• Makenzie Toole (4x100 relay), Fairfield; and

• Kennedy Zink (4x400 relay), Fairfield.

The All-SHAC girls track and field team also includes Katelynn Boerger (4x800 relay), North Adams; Kirsten Campbell (4x800 relay), North Adams; Sierra Kendall (long jump, 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 200m dash), North Adams; Emilee Moermond (discus), Eastern; Mckenna Shelton (4x800 relay), North Adams; and Myla Toole (4x800 relay, 1600m run, 800m run, 3200m run), North Adams.

Sierra Kendall earned Girls Athlete of the Year and the Coach of the Year is Isaac Wooten, both of North Adams.

Ten Highland County boys track and field athletes were named to the All-SHAC team for their finish at the conference meet, led by the SHAC champion Whiteoak Wildcats with nine selections.

Highland County athletes named to the team include:

• Bryce Bailey (4x200 relay, 4x100 relay, 200m dash), Whiteoak;

• Logan Bieler (4x100 relay), Whiteoak;

• Weston Blair (4x800 relay, 800m run), Whiteoak;

• Evan DeAtley (4x800 relay), Whiteoak;

• Wade Evans (4x800 relay), Whiteoak;

• Landon Eyre (4x800 relay, 1600m run, 3200m run), Whiteoak;

• David Kennedy (4x200 relay), Whiteoak;

• Taylor Newton (4x200 relay, 4x200 relay), Whiteoak;

• Reese Teeters (110m hurdles, 300m hurdles), Fairfield; and

• Tyler Wessner (4x200 relay, 4x100 relay), Whiteoak.

Both the Track Athlete of the Year — Reese Teeters of Fairfield — and the Coach of the Year — Kim Roush of Whiteoak — were also from Highland County.

The All-SHAC boys track and field team also includes Cauner Boatman (shot put), Peebles; Jacob Campbell (high jump), North Adams; Caleb Deatley (discus), North Adams; Garrett Emerson (4x400 relay), North Adams; Jake Frost (4x400 relay), North Adams; Cody Hesler (400m dash, 4x400 relay), North Adams; Gage White (4x400 relay), North Adams; and Ryland Wikoff (long jump, 100m dash), Manchester.

There were also 10 Highland County baseball athletes honored. For the All-SHAC baseball team, the SHAC Div. I champion Fairfield Lions and SHAC Div. II champion Whiteoak Wildcats each had four athletes receiving conference honors.

For Fairfield, named to the team were Hunter Burns, Gabe Fouch, Cade Miller and Jacob Morgan. Whiteoak’s honorees included Landon Barnett, Connor Butler, Carson Emery and Nate Price.

Lynchburg-Clay (SHAC Div. I runners-up) had two All-SHAC athletes, Austin Barnhill and Josiah Burns.

Also for Whiteoak, head coach Chris Veidt was named Coach of the Year. The Baseball Player of the Year will be named at the spring sports banquet.

The All-SHAC baseball team also included: Logan Bell, Manchester; Wyatt Haupt, Eastern; Brady Lung, North Adams; Jackson Poole, Manchester; Zane Porter, Peebles; Caleb Rothwell, North Adams; Austin Snider, Fayetteville; and Ryland Wikoff, Manchester.

Six Highland County softball players were named to the All-SHAC team, including three for the SHAC champion Fairfield Lady Lions, two for Whiteoak and one for Lynchburg-Clay.

For Fairfield, Halle Hamilton, Caitlyn Quickle and Emmi Vance all earned All-SHAC honors. Whiteoak’s Cora Akers and Bri Hill were also named to the team, as was Autumn Griffith of Lynchburg-Clay.

Also for Fairfield, head coach Mark Dettwiller was named Coach of the Year. The Softball Player of the Year will be announced at the spring sports banquet.
