On Sunday the Southern Hills Athletic Conference announced their boys and girls All-SHAC basketball and bowling teams for the 2019-20 season, with 20 Highland County athletes receiving honors.

The following are the players selected by the coaches of the conference.



Three Highland County girls basketball teams received All-SHAC honors in Lynchburg-Clay’s Logan Binkley and Zoe Fittro and Fairfield’s Emma Fouch.

Also named to the All-SHAC girls basketball team were: Tatum Arey, Peebles; Olivia Crawford, Fayetteville; Mackenzie Gloff, Eastern; Lilly Gray, Peebles; Delaney Harper, North Adams; Jacey Justice, Peebles; Brooke Kennedy, Manchester; Rylee Leonard, Eastern; Camryn Pickerill, Eastern; Alexa Rowe, West Union; Wylie Shipley, North Adams; and Ayziah Williams, Ripley.

Rob Davis of North Adams was named Coach of the Year. The Player of the Year will be announced at the All-SHAC banquet.

A total of four Highland County athletes received All-SHAC honors for the boys basketball team, with Fairfield having two selections in James Bentley and Bryson Simmons and Lynchburg-Clay and Whiteoak each having one athlete in Raymond Conner and Landon Barnett, respectively.

Also named to the All-SHAC boys basketball team were: Ryan Boone, Eastern; Weston Browning, Peebles; Titus Burns, Eastern; Jayden Hesler, North Adams; Zane Kingsolver, West Union; Austin McCormick, North Adams; Chris Murphy, Fayetteville; Nigel Royal, Ripley; Hunter Ruckel, Peebles; Isaiah Scott, Manchester; and Colton Vaughn, Eastern.

Coach of the Year honors went to Rob Beucler of Eastern. The Player of the Year will be announced at the All-SHAC banquet.

Six Highland County girls bowlers were named to the All-SHAC team, with three players each from Lynchburg-Clay and Fairfield. In order of their finish, Highland County’s All-SHAC girls bowlers were Fairfield’s Morgan Baker, Lynchburg-Clay’s Mikaela Tipton, Fairfield’s Sarah Wuellner, Lynchburg-Clay’s Olivia Balon, Fairfield’s Gracie Lawson and Lynchburg-Clay’s Milain Burns.

Also named to the All-SHAC girls bowling team were Maggie Dorsey and Taylor Dotson, both of Eastern.

Fairfield head coach Dennis Mosny was named coach of the year, and Morgan Baker of Fairfield earned player of the year honors by bowling a 1,040 at the conference tournament.

On the All-SHAC boys bowling team, there were seven bowlers from Highland County school honored, with three each from Lynchburg-Clay and Fairfield and one bowler from Whiteoak. In order of finish, Highland County’s All-SHAC boys bowlers were Fairfield’s Jacob Cox and Christian Thurman, Lynchburg-Clay’s Nathan Campbell, Whiteoak’s Austin Moore, Fairfield’s Blaine Vickers and Lynchburg-Clay’s Kaleb Thomas and Jacob Hutchinson.

Also named to the All-SHAC boys bowling team was Tristan Fisher of Ripley.

Jason Ayers of Fairfield was named coach of the year. Jacob Cox of Fairfield received bowler of the year honors by bowling a 1,110 at the conference tournament.
