As everyone was in a bit of a hurry as time ticked away for the Hillsboro Indians against the host Williamsburg Wildcats on Friday night, Hillsboro head coach Jack O’Rourke and his team were calm, cool and collected on a muggy evening.

    The McClain Tigers hosted the East Clinton Astros on Friday in Greenfield and were looking to string together consecutive wins for the homecoming crowd at McClain High School. The Astros had other plans and controlled the ball — and the clock — as the Tigers fell 26-7 to their former South Central Ohio League rival.

    LEESBURG — Playing their third Southern Hills Athletic Conference match in a four-day span, the Fairfield Lady Lions have become accustomed to being on the court against a familiar foe with little rest. Following tough matches against North Adams and Fayetteville earlier in the week, on Thursday the Lady Lions swept visiting Manchester in three straight sets to end the week with two wins and one loss.
