The Lynchburg-Clay varsity bowling teams began this week with wins over Southern Hills Athletic Conference rivals as well as Frontier Athletic Conference competition.

Both the Lynchburg-Clay boys and girls teams won on Monday, Dec. 4, defeating SHAC rivals Fairfield, Whiteoak and Eastern Brown. On Tuesday, Dec. 5, the boys and girls bowling teams defeated Chillicothe at Shawnee Lanes.

On Monday at Highland Lanes, the Lynchburg-Clay girls team finished with a score of 1,869, followed by Fairfield in second at 1,415, Eastern third at 1,397 and Whiteoak fourth at 1,124. The top scorers for LC were Morghan Sellman (166, 170) and Tia McConnaughey (147, 178).

The Mustangs topped the 2,000 mark, totaling 2,178 for their first-place finish. Whiteoak was second at 1,888, followed by Fairfield in third at 1,626 and Eastern fourth at 1,444. Leading LC were Jonah Fenner (180, 214) and Noah Fenner (211, 161).

The Lynchburg-Clay bowling teams traveled to Chillicothe Tuesday, where they won at Shawnee Lanes. The girls team won with a score of 1,859 over Chillicothe’s 1,728. Sellman again led the Mustangs at 223 and 117, along with Hannah Morgan (167, 162).

In a close match, the Mustangs were victorious over the Chillicothe boys varsity bowling team, winning 2,344 to 2,326. The Mustangs were led by Noah Fenner (203, 189) and Daulton Feiss (170, 212) over CHS.

Next for the Mustangs bowling teams is another SHAC matchup on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Ripley at Town & Country Lanes in Aberdeen. The match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
