The first Division III state Associated Press girls basketball poll was released on Tuesday, and the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs were ranked 10th by a panel of sportswriters in the state.

At the time of the vote, the Lady Mustangs were 11-0 overall and received 40 points. Since the vote, the Lady Mustangs moved to their 12th straight win of the season by defeating West Union, 66-34 Monday night.

Through their first 12 games, the Lady Mustangs are averaging 65.3 points per game this season, while allowing 34.1 ppg.

Also in Division III, Eastern Brown was ranked 21st as they were awarded 17 points in the first vote of the season.

In the Division II poll, the McClain Lady Tigers were ranked 20th with 13 points as they were 9-2 at the time of the vote. Since the vote, McClain is now 9-3 overall as they lost on Monday night to Portsmouth Notre Dame, 43-23.
