The Chillicothe varsity girls swim team duplicated what their boys team did one day earlier by winning the Frontier Athletic Conference championship in the McClain pool Thursday night.

The Lady Cavaliers amassed an impressive 400 points in winning the meet but had some stiff competition from the runner-up and host team from McClain that tallied 305 points on the night.

Miami Trace finished third with 240 points, followed by Washington, who scored 184, and Hillsboro with 139.

Senior Emily Parker and sophomore Peyton Voss led the Lady Tiger Sharks, with each having two individual firsts, and both were also members of McClain’s championship-winning 200 freestyle relay team, along with Anna Raike and freshman Kerigan Pollard.

Parker won the 50 freestyle event with a time of 27.09 and 100 freestyle with a winning time of 1:01.83. Voss notched her two individual titles beginning with the 200 freestyle with a 2:20.29 time and picked up her second in the 500 freestyle when she touched the wall in 6:20.38.

McClain’s 200 medley relay team of Erika Martin, Pollard, Raike and Ruby Brennan also finished second in the meet. The Lady Tigers’ 400 freestyle relay squad of Voss, Brennan, Raike and Parker had a second-place finish, too.

The other top finishers for McClain were Kerigan Pollard, third place, 100 breaststroke; Heather Parker, fourth place, 200 freestyle; Anna Raike, fourth place, 100 butterfly; Ruby Brennan, fourth place, 100 freestyle; and Erika Martin, fourth place, 100 backstroke.

Izzy Bourne was Hillsboro’s top individual finisher with a third-place 100 backstroke and a fourth-place 50 freestyle. The Lady Indians’ 200 freestyle relay team of Hannah Haines, Brittany Rhoads, Molly Ferguson and Bourne had a fourth-place finish.
