The second phase to the overall Frontier Athletic Conference team championship is the individual tournament in wrestling, which was held Saturday at Chillicothe High School. For Highland County, the tournament saw McClain tying for second place in the overall season standings.

The first phase is the conference duals, where McClain entered the FAC tournament on Saturday with four points by going 4-1 in league duals this season.

To pick up a point in the tournament, a team must place ahead of another team, and McClain picked up two points in the tournament by placing ahead of two teams. Overall, it was McClain, Jackson and Washington all finishing the season with six points, and all three tied for second place in the FAC behind the repeat champion Miami Trace.

Miami Trace accumulated the maximum 10 points by going 5-0 in duals and winning the FAC tournament. Chillicothe and Hillsboro both tied for fifth by accumulating one point.

The Tigers were able to fill 11 of the 14 weight classes, as all 11 were able to score team points and 10 were able to place.

Kade Rawlins (220) once again led the way for the purple-and-gold by punching his ticket to the FAC winter sports banquet with a weight class championship. Rawlins went 2-0 on the day and improved to 31-1 on the season.

Also from Highland County, Hillsboro’s Lane Cluff was the 285-pound champion of the FAC.

Dawson Jansen won his 20th match of the season. He is now 20-13 on the season. As a junior, he is also on path to reach the 100-win total for his career, as he currently has 75 career wins.

Ethan Burns (113) went 1-1 on the day and came in third place, while Kyler Trefz (195) and Kai Borrelli (285) both finished in fourth place.
