The McClain Tigers traveled to Washington High School on Thursday (Jan. 9) and lost in a Frontier Athletic Conference dual match to the host Blue Lions by a 54-14 score.

The Tigers earned four wins in the seven matches that took place in Washington C.H,. with one of their wins coming from Josh Breakfield by pin fall in the 126-pound match.



Another win by the Tigers included Ethan Burns winning the 138-pound match by decision, and at 152 pounds Quinton Smith wrestled to a decision win. McClain also won the 195-pound match, in which the victory went to Phil Waters by decision.

Also wrestling but suffering a loss were Lucas Jansen (132), Justin Kegley (220) and Rocky Jeffers (285).

Washington also gained wins by forfeit in four weight classes.

In a JV match at 285, Kai Borrelli of MHS lost by pin.

McClain now stands at 1-2 in the FAC and 3-2 overall.

Up next for the Tigers will be three consecutive days of wrestling starting next Thursday (Jan. 16) in an FAC dual with conference-leading Miami Trace, followed by the 20-team two-day bracket tournament at Licking Heights.
