The McClain Tigers played close to the host Western Brown Broncos Tuesday night, but the road game got away from them just a bit in the third frame as they lost the non-conference showdown in Mt. Orab by a 59-51 score.

The Tigers (9-3) were led in scoring by Devin Carter with 23 points, followed by Dalton Mischal with 15 points. Another one of the leading scorers was Garrison Banks with nine points on the night.

At the end of the first quarter, it was a one-point differential as the Tigers trailed by a 17-16 score. In the second, the Broncos outscored the Tigers, 14-12 for a halftime deficit for McClain of 31-28.

The third frame was the biggest difference in the scoring column with Western Brown scoring 18 points compared to the 11 points by the Tigers. In the fourth, McClain tallied 12 points, while the Broncos scored 10 points.

Next for the Tigers is a Frontier Athletic Conference game on Friday, Jan. 11 at Jackson. Earlier this season, McClain defeated Jackson, 50-48 at MHS.
