On Saturday night (Jan. 11) the McClain Tigers played in a non-conference home game as they hosted the Unioto Shermans of the Scioto Valley Conference, falling to the visitors by a 44-38 score.

The Tigers trailed by a 7-4 score at the end of the first frame, and that was followed by McClain winning the second at 12-11 for a halftime score of 18-16 in favor of the Shermans.

The second half included a third frame where Unioto led by 17-6, moving the score to 33-22, and in the fourth quarter McClain scored 16 points, while Unioto added nine points to their total, handing the Tigers a six-point loss.




Bryson Badgley led the Tigers with 14 points, and next was Lyle White with nine points. Next in the scoring column was Camden Closson with six points, and Preston Saunders tallied five points. Rounding out the McClain scoring was Braden Wright with four points.

The loss sends the McClain Tigers' overall record to 4-9 this season.

Next for the Tigers is an away road non-conference game on Tuesday, Jan. 14 as the Tigers will be facing the Whiteoak Wildcats in a Highland County rivalry game.
