The OH-WAY Southeast Regional Tournament was held at Chillicothe High School on Sunday, Feb. 25. The Top 6 wrestlers in each weight class qualified for the state tournament to be held in Marion on March 17-18 and 24. All 11 of the Greenfield wrestlers were able to gain top six positions and qualify.

Three wrestlers led the way by winning their weight classes: Ethan Burns, Dixie Johnson and Gage Jett. Runners-up were Kolton Lamb, Kyle Bennett and Karli Parker.

Finishing in third place were Landon Daugherty and Josh Smith. Jhett Watson finished fourth overall, while Keegan Parker and Quin Whiteside both finished in fifth place.

The 28-team COBYWA youth wrestling league concluded with the annual league tournament, a double-elimination tournament, which was held at Mechanicsburg High School on Sunday, Feb. 11. The Greenfield Youth Wrestling Club wrestled well, finishing with two league champions and many top four placers out of their 21-wrestler team.

Landon Daugherty and Kolton Lamb both were crowned as league champions. Daugherty completed a perfect 15-0 season, and Lamb not only was crowned league champion, but also won the most pins (three) in the least amount of time (52 seconds total) of all competitors in the tournament, besting Jordan Pender of Triad, who had three pins in 1:20 as the second-best in the tournament.

Greenfield had two finalists that finished as runners-up, Gage Jett and Elijah Walker.

Three young Tigers finished in third place: Kyle Bennett, Tyler Shope and Dixie Johnson.

Finishing in fourth place were Nate Breakfield, Alex Waters and Vaiden Miracle.

Winning one match, but falling short on placement, were: Keegan Parker, Braydon Weinrich, Quin Whiteside, Dylan Friedhof, Avery Truman, Karli Parker, Josh Smith, Carson Shope, Jhett Watson and Sydney Whiteside.

Wrestling twice in the tournament was Oris Snyder.
